Community-Oriented Empowerment and Enforcement Philosophy (COE2)

The Community Oriented Empowerment and Enforcement Philosophy (COE2) dictates that each department member work towards prevention through partnerships within the college community, collectively identifying and solving problems. Ultimately we're striving to create a sense of joint ownership for reciprocal behavior, skills and attitudes that will allow all members of our community to express concerns.

It is through these expressions of concerns that issues can be targeted, plan of actions can be developed and implemented, and crime and liability be impacted. Examples of this include officers attending home athletic competitions and student performances in the Sawyer Center.

Officers are also encouraged to freely interact with students while performing routine rounds of the residence halls. This increased familiarity between officers and students makes it easier for issues and concerns to be raised and ultimately resolved.
