Explore the human experience and play an important role in answering questions about cognition and behavior with a bachelor of science in psychology degree from Colby-Sawyer.
Meeting of the Minds
Deepen your understanding of psychology and the social and cultural experiences that shape human behavior to meet the changing needs of people, organizations and communities.
Coursework in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, personality, social psychology, counseling, psychopathology and research design and analysis will train you in the development of healthy cognitive and behavioral solutions and strategies.
You can choose a broad approach to the study of psychology with upper-level courses that include human sexuality, forensic psychology, psychology and law, drugs and behavior, sport and exercise psychology, or issues in child psychology.

A required internship in the psychology-related organization of your choice offers a rich learning opportunity that encourages skill development, professional growth and ethical awareness, and prepares you for clinical and research work in a variety of diverse settings.
A Capstone project during your senior year provides experience implementing your own research. You will design and investigate a study in a self-selected area of interest and present your findings to the college community. Recent projects have examined the role of nicotine in attention, the effects of listening to music on memory, and the influence of peer feedback on test performance.
A minor in psychology can be combined with any baccalaureate degree. Please see the college catalog for specific requirements.
