Branding Minor

Brands shape the public’s perception of a company or organization’s offerings, meaning and values, helping them stand out and differentiating them from competitors. In the Colby-Sawyer branding minor, students learn how to appraise and create marketing plans, branding solutions and unified visual identity systems like logos, collateral materials, and digital and physical touchpoints. Students in the minor employ methods relevant to branding for research, marketing, collaborating, strategizing and communicating.
The core courses for the minor are Marketing Principles (BUS 231), Design & Digital Media Foundations (GD 125) and Logo & Branding Design (GD 422). To complete the minor, students take two additional courses, chosen from Advertising & Social Media (BUS 407), Marketing Strategy and Decision Making (GBUS 501), Sport Marketing & Sales (SM 348) and Writing for Public Communication (WRT 216).
