Colby-Sawyer’s Master in Social Work (MSW) program is now accredited by the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE) Board of Accreditation (BOA).

The accreditation status includes an initial accreditation date of 2023, and accreditation is granted through 2034.

“Our MSW program prepares graduates to lead, advocate and create meaningful change across communities, organizations and systems,” said Kate Turcotte, Colby-Sawyer’s MSW program director and professor of social work and sociology. “Earning CSWE accreditation is an important milestone and serves as a testament to the quality of our program.”

Accreditation of a social work program by the BOA indicates that it meets or exceeds standards of program quality evaluated through a peer review accreditation process. An accredited program has sufficient resources to meet its mission and goals, and the BOA has verified that it demonstrates compliance with all accreditation standards.
