Colby-Sawyer College is automatically accepting Berkshire Community College graduates with associate degrees in three healthcare-related fields who want to pursue online Bachelor of Science degrees.

Officials at the two colleges signed three agreements in January that guarantee streamlined admission for BCC graduates with degrees in health studies, respiratory therapy, and nursing.

Accepted students from the community college in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, are eligible for financial aid and discounted tuition for online classes at Colby-Sawyer.

“We’re proud to provide an affordable and accessible education that helps BCC students reach their goals while also addressing the critical need for skilled professionals in the healthcare workforce,” said Valerie Leclair, vice president for enrollment management and marketing at Colby-Sawyer College.

Details of the agreements include:

• BCC graduates with an associate degree in health studies, a grade-point average of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale) and 60 or more credits with a minimum grade of C in each course, may enroll at Colby-Sawyer to pursue an online Bachelor of Science in health studies.

• Those with an associate degree in respiratory care, a GPA of at least 2.0, 60 or more credits with a minimum grade of C in each course, and an active registered respiratory therapist (RRT) license, may enroll at Colby-Sawyer to pursue an online Bachelor of Science in respiratory therapy.

• And, BCC graduates with an associate degree in nursing, a GPA of at least 2.0, 60 or more credits, with a minimum grade of C in each course and an active nursing license, may enroll in Colby-Sawyer’s online RN to BS in nursing program.

BCC, founded in 1960, was the first community college established by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. It seeks to provide equitable, accessible and transformative learning opportunities focused on current and evolving needs of its diverse community.

Colby-Sawyer, founded in 1837, is a private, innovative liberal arts and sciences college in New London, New Hampshire, that prepares undergraduate and graduate students to thrive in a diverse and interdependent world.
