Commencement 2025

Colby-Sawyer College will celebrate its 187th Commencement on Saturday, May 10, at 10:30 a.m. inside the Dan and Kathleen Hogan Sports Center. Doors open at 9 a.m.

The ceremony typically lasts 90 minutes. The Class of 2025 will be awarded degrees, and outstanding students and individuals will be honored for academic excellence and service to the college and community. 

Parents, friends and family are also invited to celebrate the accomplishments of their graduates on Friday, May 9, at the Scholars & Leaders and Nursing Pinning. Scholars & Leaders will take place at 2 p.m., followed by Nursing Pinning at 4 p.m. Both ceremonies will be held in Sawyer Theater.

Our friends at Allioops! Flowers & Gifts are accepting bouquet preorders through Thursday, May 8. Allioops! also will be on campus Commencement day for convenience. 

Avoid waiting in line at The Stable in the Ware Student Center on Commencement weekend. For easy pickup, preorder Colby-Sawyer swag and gifts at the campus store by 2 p.m. Friday, May 9. Add a note to your online order to indicate that you want the pickup option. Hours on Commencement Day are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Colby-Sawyer College conferred 268 degrees — 11 doctoral, 42 master’s, 202 bachelor’s and 13 associate — to members of the Class of 2025. Also at the ceremony, former U.S. Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster received an Honorary Doctor of Laws degree and Pamela Stanley Bright ’61 was presented with the Susan Colgate Cleveland Medal for Distinguished Service. Assistant Professor David Lutz gave the address and Brian Cal-Mallo '25 delivered the senior speech. Destiny Cruz won the Colby-Sawyer Award and Joshua Warner earned the David H. Winton Baccalaureate Award for ranking highest in scholarship.
