Community Engagement
At Colby-Sawyer, our purpose is to discover our potential to build a better world. We value interconnectedness and relationships, and we strive to demonstrate. Our community members are committed to giving back — to each other, to the campus and local community and to the world beyond New London.
BOLD Women’s Leadership Network
Funded and supported by The Helen Gurley Brown Foundation, the BOLD Women’s Leadership Network is a pioneering program that cultivates leadership by facilitating opportunities for women’s leadership programming, career development and networking. The foundation provides financial support for community-based projects.
Community Service Club
The Community Service Club is a student organization that provides opportunities for students to engage in community service projects on campus and in the greater New London area.
Wesson Honors Program
The Wesson Honors Program offers intensive academic, cultural and social opportunities for students enrolled in the program. In addition to small, seminar-style classes, access to the Honors Suite and opportunities to secure funding for independent projects, Wesson Scholars are committed to taking on leadership roles in the immediate and extended community.
Internships
Every student at Colby-Sawyer completes an internship, which provides an opportunity to take classroom skills and apply them in community settings locally, nationally and internationally.
