Nicole Morello ‘28 interned at Boston College during the summer of 2026

“While interning at Boston College in their Athletic Facility and Operations Department this summer, I have gained valuable experience in event and game day operations, general facility operations, equipment preparation for preseason games, advance work for home competitions taking place during the fall semester, scheduling, work orders, and supply inventory. These responsibilities have given me a better understanding of the behind-the-scenes work required to successfully operate a Division 1 collegiate athletic department. Through this hands-on experience, I have developed organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills that are highly transferable to a career in the sports industry. This internship has also strengthened my interest in pursuing a full-time position in the sport industry, as it has provided me with practical experience and a clearer understanding of the professionalism and attention to detail required in the field.

My time spent working with Career Services in preparation for my internship helped me tremendously. They made sure I completed all the necessary paperwork and materials required before starting my internship, making the transition into my role smooth and stress-free.”

Catherine Chick ‘27 interned at Alpine Garden Winery, in Bartlett, NH

"The experience I have attained through this internship has allowed me to understand the roots literally of a business. So far in this internship, I have learned about the initial stage of the vineyard activity: planting the grapevines. I learned that once the grapevines were taken from the water, they had to be planted as early as possible in order to keep the roots alive. I have also learned that it is vital to spread the roots correctly before planting the grapevines so that they are not tangled with each other and die. My experience so far has allowed me to understand just how much effort, skill, and care is necessary to create a quality vineyard starting from the planting and at the very beginning.

Throughout my internship preparation process, I have received great help from Career Services of the Harrington Center. They made sure I had all the necessary information and materials to embark on the successful internship, along with preparing for the future job placement. One of the most helpful parts of the service was to review and make changes to my résumé ahead of time to make sure it was properly done. I found their assistance useful in the internship process in general."

Debra Swiatek ‘27 interned with the Florence School of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy

"During my experience with the Florence School of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy, I had the opportunity to create a set of linocut prints in a professional printmaking studio. By being in Florence, I was surrounded by art and used what I saw as a basis for my series of prints. I was able to work and develop my technical skills alongside wonderful mentors and fellow students. Working with Career Services has helped me to develop my resume and portfolio for such opportunities, as well as provided the resources to help with study abroad."

Destiny Cruz '25 ’26 MBA attended the Global Lawyers for Refugees' Washington, D.C.

"Attending the Global Lawyers for Refugees' Washington, D.C. Professional Development & Fellowship Experience inspired me to be even more focused on my academic and career aspirations. In addition to pursuing an MBA at Colby-Sawyer, I am the program operations director for GLR, which provides refugees fleeing religious persecution with legal services, technology and policy support. I'm also preparing to take the Law School Admission Test.

This experience gave me the chance to see my long-term goals in action. This connected my studies, nonprofit leadership, and future legal career in a way I’ll carry forward through my journey."

Lillian Anderson interned at Millstone Wildlife Center

"When I first got accepted into my internship at Millstone Wildlife Center, I was nervous. Including myself, only 10 college students that applied for this position got in. On my first day, I instantly felt at home. The organization is welcoming and everyone is very friendly. At Millstone Wildlife Center, we care for injured, sick, or orphaned mammals located in New Hampshire. Our goal is to raise them, teach them skills they will need to thrive in the wild, and release them as soon as they are ready. I had already started working, and I nervously kept pushing off application for my internship course. Career Services was incredibly helpful, guiding me through costs, and even encouraging me when I was struggling to complete my application steps. I am now happily counting my internship hours and learning more about a career I’d like to aim for after college.
