“I am forever grateful for the experience and relationships that Colby-Sawyer provided me. I think learning how to network and creating meaningful relationships with those around you are two of the key things that I took away from Colby-Sawyer that I use on a daily basis while at work. Going to a school the size of Colby-Sawyer makes you appreciate those things and skill sets a little bit more in my opinion rather than being at a large school where you can get lost and not find your way at times.”

Eliot Foerster ’09 Finds His Voice in Art and Storytelling

“College gave me the confidence that I could actually be an artist professionally,” he said. “After graduation, I walked into an art center and started volunteering until they gave me work. That’s not something I would have had the confidence to do right out of high school.”

Betsida Brooks
A Champion for Justice and Climate Action

For Betsida Brooks ’18, Colby-Sawyer College was more than just a place to study; it was a launching pad for her journey in social justice and climate activism. Currently serving as deputy director at 350 New Hampshire, a grassroots organization focused on climate action, Betsida reflected on her path from firstyear political science major to master’s-level leader in advocacy work.

Having focused on marketing during my time in undergrad, being able to work within that field feels extremely rewarding. Recently starting a Master of Business Administration has also reignited my passion for academics especially in working towards career development. Education continues to be a large part of my life, made possible in my time at Colby-Sawyer learning at a focused, strong pace."
