Applying for Aid

Financial assistance may be available to help pay for tuition and fees, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation.

Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

FAFSA Priority Deadline

March 1 is the priority deadline for submitting completed FAFSA applications. By meeting this deadline, the Financial Aid Office can package and provide a financial aid offer to you with as much decision-making time as possible before the May 1 enrollment deposit deadline. If you miss the March 1 priority filing deadline, you are still encouraged to submit a FAFSA.

How to Submit Your FAFSA

The FAFSA can be filled out and submitted online at fafsa.ed.gov, and is available starting October 1 for the following academic year. You do not need to wait for an admission decision from Colby-Sawyer before completing and submitting the FAFSA. Be sure to select Colby-Sawyer as one of the colleges to receive a copy of your FAFSA.

FSA ID

Create a FSA ID to access the Federal Student Aid’s online systems. The FSA ID also serves as your legal signature on the FASFA.
