Military Service Members, Veterans & Eligible Dependents
You've gained crucial knowledge and vital experience serving in the U.S. military and now you are ready to access your GI Bill® benefits. Whether you are pursuing a degree or helping an eligible dependent reach their academic goals, Colby-Sawyer's admissions counselors are here to assist you as you navigate checklists, meet deadlines and make choices.
Admission Deadlines
- Early action for fall term: December 15
- Rolling admission for fall term: April 1
- Enrollment deposit: May 1
Application Checklist
- Complete the Online Application (be sure to select "transfer" and "veteran")
- Apply for education benefits with the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs
- Submit Certificate of Eligibility (COE) or 28-1905 (CH 31) to a School Certifying Official (SCO)
- Writing sample recommended topic: Why Colby-Sawyer College?
- Official transcripts from all colleges or universities attended
- Joint Service Transcript (JST) or Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) Transcript
- High school transcripts (may be required - consult with a veterans counselor at veterans@colby-sawyer.edu)
Changes in Enrollment
If you change your enrollment at Colby-Sawyer, you must notify an SCO in order to make the change with the appropriate Veterans Administration (VA) Regional Processing Office. If the VA does not receive prompt notice of a change, you could be liable for an overpayment of benefits.
