Department of Social Sciences

The Department of Social Sciences at Colby-Sawyer College focuses on understanding people: how to build sustainable communities and businesses; how to engage in productive, data-driven research; and how to lead and promote change.

The Department of Social Sciences draws from multiple academic disciplines to prepare undergraduate and graduate learners for thriving careers in a variety of industries and professions. Utilizing internships, field and clinical experiences, client-based activities and connections to local professionals, it enhances student learning and career connections. 

The department is also home to our Master of Social Work (MSW) program, an innovative, fully online graduate program that prepares students for advanced social work practice and careers strengthening individuals, families, organizations, and communities.
