At Colby-Sawyer, we are committed to promoting and understanding empathy through comprehensive programs and discussions on cultural diversity and LGBTQ+ issues.

Beyond Tolerance

Through activities and discussion, the program builds empathy and understanding of what it is like to be LGBTQ+ in contemporary society.

Collidascope

A game in which players address contemporary issues, sexism, heterosexism, racism, ableism and Jewish oppression, by answering fact cards and participating in role play.

Demystifying Isms/Cross-cultural Exploration

Gain knowledge regarding commonly used terminology and participate in case studies focusing on cross-cultural interaction.

Understanding and Supporting the LGBTQ Community at Colby-Sawyer

A faculty-led workshop that promotes better understanding of LGBTQ+ terminology, relevant issues, policies and processes. Student leaders, faculty and staff completing the program receive a LGBTQ+ Safe Zone sticker.
