Skipping a Chapter

Blankets around him…
ripped off,
in the middle of the night,
by rough hands,
greed.

Mother’s worries,
take over each day.
She knows where he went,
kills her to not get him back.

Until the pinks and yellows
overtake the sky,
forced…
with the machete
to his head.
No choice but to obey.

Following the horrified,
taking lives,
and virginity.
A new person,
against his will.

Nonstop killings.
Monsters emerge.
Eyes once innocent.
Bullets.
A manslaughter machine.

Taken away,
silenced by war.
Blood on hands,
never to be cleaned.

Come home child.

Washed Into Toxins

They meet
and catch up.
Sharing stories of the dragon.
Smokey breaths of evil
as they fall.

Dancing away
from the soft cloud
down your face.
Cheer and spit,
until they contort
to fill cracks in the sidewalk.

Unaware that shoes
will soon
splash through them.
Holding onto the Stiletto
That crashes into them.

World skewed by toxic waters.
What was once pure,
now just a trail behind one's footsteps.
