Professional Preparation
The History, Society and Culture Program places a strong emphasis on professional preparation. The program has a required internship experience, so you will gain practical work experience. Our students have interned with presidential campaigns, in local schools and with the National Geographic Society.
Harrington Center for Career and Academic Advising
Students are encouraged to use the resources of the Harrington Center for Career and Academic Advising, where they can meet with a counselor to explore career options, internship opportunities and graduate schools.
Careers in History, Society and Culture
The HSC degree equips its graduates with the broad cultural literacy, as well as the strong research and communication skills, that will serve well in many professions. Graduates from the HSC program are particularly prepared to pursue careers in law, journalism, education, public history, and museum curatorship.
