Sculpture
The sculpture studio in the Sawyer Fine Arts Center is equipped for multimedia sculpture production, including welding, mixed media, and stone and wood carving. Sculpture students start by learning the basic elements of three-dimensional ideation and sculpture construction. Other courses introduce project-specific materials exploration.
At the advanced level, students are encouraged to work independently and to explore three-dimensional solutions to art making and create individually expressive works.

By supplementing the more traditional aspects of my work with elements of new and mixed media, my process and product have evolved to embrace a certain viewer sensitivity.
Sarah Raiche
Most of my artwork is created by channeling my emotions into a physical form which emulates my happiness, sadness, or anger due to internal and external forces in my life.
Andrea Brownell
Ideas stem from my imagination and I bring them forward to finished pieces of work.
