Photography

Photography facilities on the first floor of Reichhold Hall include studio space, a film-changing room, a darkroom with 10 enlargers and a high-quality inkjet printer, and a new iMac lab with 12 new 24-inch computers along with a film scanner, projector and laser printer. Here, photography and graphic design students can use specialty programs such as the Adobe Creative Suite to create professional quality projects and gain experience using the programs they will depend on in their careers.

As photography majors, students start with the technical basics of cameras, lenses, and film processing. Intermediate courses introduce students to digital imaging and color photography; these skills are refined in advanced courses where students grow as artists by also expanding their knowledge of printing techniques, development techniques, and specialized light-sensitive materials.

The idea of turning something ordinary into something extraordinary excites and encourages me to push myself further.

My main concentration is photography, and the style that I have developed is minimalist. My work tells a story through simplicity.
