I am motivated by my life experiences to be an artist. My medium that I use is clay. I throw pottery and sometimes make sculptures out it. I try to use all the skills that I have learned and incorporate them into my pieces. I love using my hands to make things. I grew up on a farm learning how to do carpentry and how to cut wood at a young age. One thing that motivates me is building things. I like the challenge of trying to figure things out and how to build them.

I may not know how to get the perfect shape that I want. But I try and keep trying till I get it right. It may take me awhile to figure out how I want things to look. This impatience with myself leaves me to feel imperfect, like there is a lot that needs improving in my line of work. I have an open mind when it comes to criticisms about my work. It helps me to understand what I need to improve even if it’s a challenge.
