Summer Housing 2015

This page provided information about summer housing on campus, including both logistical information, such as availability, eligibility, and cost, as well as the terms and conditions students must abide by in order to participate in summer housing.


Summer Housing available Friday, May 15, 2015 – Friday, August 14, 2015 for full summer rental, monthly, weekly, or daily rental. Summer residents are eligible to request Temporary Housing between the end of finals and the start of summer housing with the following understanding:

  • Summer housing contract must be submitted and first payment made;
  • Students may be asked to move to a different room to accommodate the needs of the college during this time;
  • Students must sign a Temporary Housing contract, which includes no guests and no alcohol (regardless of age);
  • Violations of the Temporary Housing contract and/or Code of Community Responsibility may result in immediate removal from campus housing during this period and/or make the student ineligible for temporary or summer housing;
  • There is no charge to students who are approved to be on campus during this period (May 5 at 10:00am through May 15 at 5:00pm);
  • This temporary housing is ONLY available to students who are currently living on campus for the Spring semester.

Once your registration form has been processed by a staff member, you will receive an email confirmation which will include your housing assignment and instructions for submitting your payment on the Colby-Sawyer Storefront.


$100 per week/double occupancy in Page/McKean* halls and/or $25 per day
$125 per week/single occupancy in Page/McKean* halls and/or $25 per day
$150 per week/single occupancy in Duplexes (this option is available to nursing extern students only, May 26 - July 18) and/or $25 per day

  • Upon registration, you will receive an email with payment instructions. Payments may be made via the college storefront;
  • First summer rental payment must be made prior to occupancy. There are no partial refunds should the student leave before the end of the agreed upon rental period;
  • Weekly rates are based on seven consecutive days in summer housing;
  • This cost does NOT include meals. Information will be sent regarding summer meal plan options available for purchase.


Summer housing is available for current students who are enrolled as Colby-Sawyer students for the 2015–2016 academic year or graduates of the class of 2015.

  • Preference will be given to students who:
    • Are registered for Colby-Sawyer summer credits; or
    • Are employed by the college or a college-related employer for the summer; or
    • Hold a summer internship through the college.
  • Housing will be available to eligible students who are working in the area for the summer on a space available basis;
  • Students must submit any requests for Summer Housing within three business days of occupancy.


  • CSC students may choose from the following:
    • General summer housing: Page Hall, singles and doubles, available May 15 - August 14;
    • Davis Grant Housing: Page or McKean Hall (if needed), singles and doubles, available May 15 - June 11;
    • Available to DHMC Nursing externship students: Duplexes on Cottage Lane, singles only, available May 23 - July 18 (CSC nursing students needing additional housing over the summer can sign up to live in Page for any time periods prior to or following the externship dates)
  • Check-in is between 9:00pm – 5:00pm on Monday – Friday in the Residential Education office located on the 1st floor of the Ware Student Center. (Evening/weekend arrival by arrangement)
  • Check-out is by 5:00pm. Keys/Access Cards may be left with Residential Education Staff or Campus Safety.

Additional Information

  1. Placement for summer housing will be based on the following criteria:
    • Housing start date(s) and housing end date(s);
    • Availability of space;
    • Gender;
    • Summer program (student, employee, intern)
    • Students selecting to live in a double must leave one complete set of furniture open and readily available for a roommate to move in at any time;

  2. Upon verification of financial clearance, you will receive your housing assignment.
  3. During the summer months, the college hosts a number of outside events and guests. Upon registering for summer housing, you will receive more information about the guidelines and schedules for use of campus resources.
    • Hogan Sports Center will be available during posted hours after Monday, May 25;
    • Sodexo dining options will be available on a limited basis for students to purchase meals;
    • Game Room will be available during posted hours.
  4. Staffing
    • At least one student will be hired to serve as Summer Housing Assistants (SHA) and will report directly to the Assistant Director.
