Your work... is to resist the easy answer, to seek out the truth... just as the author's work is to face the blank page with faith and optimism.

February
February was definitely another emotional month for everyone. Valentine's Day brought up memories of the boy or girl you'll never forget, or the boyfriend or girlfriend you are so far away from. It takes everything inside of you to stop yourself from getting in your car and driving to be with them. Looking around, you notice that everyone around you is going through the same difficult time. They all want to be somewhere else, but they can't, so they make the most of what they have here.
The snow was piled up on the ground and the only way to stop yourself from getting angry with the cold weather was to embrace it. I got bundled up so many times with the girls and we played with the snow. We're 19 years old- we're in college, and the only way we could get through some of the days was to go sledding behind the Hogan Sports Center, have a snowball fight on the quad or just plain make snow angels wherever we wanted to. Playing in the snow and acting like children helped alleviated our lonely feelings as well. Winter Carnival helped take emphasis off of missing people, and focused more on having fun. My friends and I attended numerous events including a hypnotist. Many people showed up at the Valentine's Day dance, and everyone seemed to have a blast dancing off their emotions all night.
