The Nursing Update 2013 course at Colby-Sawyer College provides nurses who have not accumulated 400 of practice hours within 4 years, or who have been working in a specialty area, or feel the need to review and update his/her medical-surgical nursing knowledge and be aware of educational, professional and practice issues occurring in the nursing profession.
Course Overview…
The Nursing Process serves as the framework for learning in the classroom and clinical practice. The course content is focused on the care of the adult medical-surgical patient in an acute care setting.
Course Objectives…
Upon completion of this course, the registered nurse is expected to have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of selected medical-surgical conditions and current diagnostic, treatment and management measures.

Class size is limited to a minimum of six and a maximum of eight in order to assure a quality educational experience. As part of the registration process, an application is to be completed and an interview with the course director is required.
