NEW LONDON, N.H., April 5, 2006 The Colby-Sawyer College Department for Fine and Performing Arts will present the Annual Senior Art Exhibition, featuring senior art students' work in multiple media, including drawing, ceramics, painting, printmaking, painting, sculpture and graphic design. The 22 students with work featured in the show are graduating with either a B.A. or B.F.A. degree in studio art or graphic design. The exhibition will run through May 13.
The senior art show features the best career work of all senior art students. Seniors in the graphic design and studio art majors submit and help hang their work for the annual show. The most prestigious award is the Presidential Purchase Award, which is given to the artist or graphic designer who creates work deserving of a place in the college's permanent art collection. All work at the art show is for sale, and many students sell their work to students, faculty and community members who attend the show.
Seniors graduating from the Colby-Sawyer Fine and Performing Arts Department who will be featured in this year's show are Tarren Bailey, Guilford, Conn.; Jeffery Blaszka, East Hampstead, N.H.; Angela Bull, Hermon, Maine; Julia Costello, Lexington, Mass.; Trenton Edwards, South Burlington, Vt.; Ellen Grimnes, Brunswick, Maine; Amanda Houston, Lisbon, N.H.; Chris Houston-Ponchak, Cranston, R.I.; Kristen Koslowski, Methuen, Mass.; Ryan Lavorgna, Killingworth, Conn.; Peter Mailloux, Ferrisburg, Vt.; Nadia Markiw, West Brattleboro, Vt.; Jennifer Millett, Kittery, Maine; Elisha Morgan, Hopkinton, N.H.; Casey Nearing, Richmond, N.H.; Megan Neth, Londonderry, N.H.; Jason Pelletier, Milford, N.H.; Kristen Pobatschnig, Portland, Maine; Allison Pyles, Pepperell, Mass.; Steven Rogers, East Weymouth, Mass.; Kathryn Smith, Rockland, Mass.; and Travis Soule, Littleton, N.H.
