Colby-Sawyer College Appoints Greg Matthews as Vice President for Enrollment Management

NEW LONDON, N.H., March 8, 2007 –Gregory W. Matthews, assistant vice president of Admission and Financial Aid at Ohio Wesleyan University, has been selected as the next vice president for enrollment management of Colby-Sawyer College. Matthews will serve as the college's strategic and policy leader on enrollment and oversee 15 staff in the college's Admissions and Financial Aid offices. He will assume his new role at Colby-Sawyer in spring 2007.

Matthews has been with Ohio Wesleyan University since 1999, first as director of Financial Aid, and in his current role as assistant vice president of Admission and Financial Aid since 2005. He previously served as dean of Admission and Financial Aid and director of Financial Aid at Green Mountain College. Earlier in his career, Matthews worked in financial aid at Smith College and Kansas State University.

“Greg Matthews had been highly successful in working collaboratively and strategically at Ohio Wesleyan University and Green Mountain College to increase enrollment, manage financial aid and information systems, and build confident, high-performance teams in Admissions and Financial Aid,” said Colby-Sawyer President Thomas C. Galligan Jr. “We are enthusiastic that Greg has agreed to lead Colby-Sawyer's enrollment team. We are convinced that his formidable areas of expertise, his history of success in academic environments, and just as importantly, his collaborative nature and intense focus on student success, make him a great fit for Colby-Sawyer College.”

Matthews holds a Master of Information Systems Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Management Information Systems from the College of Engineering at Kansas State University. He completed military service with the U.S. Army, receiving a letter of commendation and honor award for his outstanding service.

The vice presidential search committee was composed of Colby-Sawyer faculty, staff, students and trustees. Tom Williams of Williams and Company in Tucson, Ariz., also assisted the college in the search process.
