CitibankTo Offer Colby-Sawyer College Savings on Students' Education Loans

NEW LONDON, N.H., Feb. 1, 2006 — Colby-Sawyer College announces an exclusive agreement with The Student Loan Corporation, a subsidiary of Citibank N.A., aimed at reducing the cost of financing higher education for students. Under the new agreement, Colby-Sawyer students and their parents will be eligible for Federal Stafford loans, Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS), and a variety of other educational loan programs with no origination fees and low interest rates, according to Joe Chillo, vice president for Enrollment Management and College Relations at Colby-Sawyer College.

“Higher education is an important investment in the future, and we are committed to working closely with students and their families to make a Colby-Sawyer College education more accessible and affordable,” says Chillo. “In working with a single lending institution, we can help families keep up with the rising cost of higher education by significantly reducing their overall costs of financing a college education.”

In addition to traditional educational loans, Citibank will offer a variety of lending programs to Colby-Sawyer parents, faculty, staff and alumni. These programs include a home equity line of credit for education and a mortgage program with preferred rates. Students will also be eligible for Citibank's checking and savings accounts and credit card program with specialized student services.
