Colby-Sawyer 2014 Nursing Graduates Celebrate Exceptional NCLEX-RN Pass Rate

NEW LONDON, N.H., July 17, 2014 – The results are in – 95.8 percent of the Colby-Sawyer College Class of 2014 nursing graduates passed the National Council Licensure Examination – Registered Nurse (NCLEX-RN), administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), in their first attempt. With this first-time pass rate, Colby-Sawyer's Nursing Program has again surpassed last year's state and national averages of 83 percent. read more…

Colby-Sawyer Graduate Outcomes Report Shows High Employment, Confirms Value of Internships

NEW LONDON, N.H., June 19, 2014 – The graduate outcomes report for the Colby-Sawyer College Class of 2013 released this spring indicates that six months after graduating, 94 percent of the class was either employed or pursuing graduate studies. Based on a survey conducted by the college's Harrington Center for Experiential Learning for Career & Academic Advising with a 50 percent response rate, 85 percent of the graduates were employed, with 28 percent of them employed at organizations where they completed internships. Colby-Sawyer Brings Facilities Management In-house

April 22, 2014 – Colby-Sawyer College has opted to end its contract for the facilities management operations provided by Sodexo, effective July 1, 2014. These services at Colby-Sawyer include the Facilities and Housekeeping departments. While the change ends a long-term relationship with that branch of Sodexo, it will not affect the college's separate contract with Sodexo Dining Services. read more…

Colby-Sawyer College and its dining services provider, Sodexo, have partnered to create a college-run food recovery chapter. The Feed the Freezer program recovers leftover food from Colby-Sawyer's dining hall to donate to three local food pantries. Trustee Emeritus Richard H. “Dick” Hinman passed away on Feb. 2 at his home in New London, N.H., with his family by his side. Dick served on the Colby-Sawyer College Board of Trustees from 1971-1976. He was a member of the Bylaws Committee and the Development Committee during those years of transition as Colby Junior College for Women grew into Colby-Sawyer College in 1975. read more…

New Partnership Adds to Colby-Sawyer's Academic and Study Away Options

Colby-Sawyer College has partnered with Florida Atlantic University (FAU) for a new domestic study away option in Boca Raton, on the southeast coast of Florida. Starting in January 2014, Colby-Sawyer students who are accepted to FAU will have the opportunity to spend a semester outside of New London in a different climate and educational setting that will enrich their college experience both academically and culturally. Colby-Sawyer College Hosts Italian Cult-Horror Film Presentation

Colby-Sawyer College will host a free screening and discussion of the remastered 1970 European cult-horror classic “Hatchet for Honeymoon” on Tuesday, October 29, at 7 p.m. in Clements Hall in the Ivey Science Center. Colby-Sawyer College Hosts Retrospective Exhibition of Works by Author and Artist Tomie dePaola

Colby-Sawyer College will celebrate the lifework of former faculty member and internationally renowned author and artist Tomie dePaola in two exhibitions at the Sawyer Fine and Performing Arts Center, “Tomie dePaola: Then and Now.” The “Then” exhibition this fall will feature his early drawings, paintings and books, along with images of his costume and set designs, from the late 1940s until the mid-1970s. read more…

2013 Fall Faculty Exhibition Opens at the Marian Graves Mugar Art Gallery

Colby-Sawyer College's Fine and Performing Arts faculty will showcase ceramics, drawing, graphic design, mixed media sculpture, painting, photography and printmaking in its annual exhibition. The exhibition opens at the Marian Graves Mugar Art Gallery in the Sawyer Fine and Performing Arts Center on Thursday, September 19 and runs through Saturday, October 19.
