Hannaford Foundation Provides Grant for Windy Hill School Construction

NEW LONDON, N.H., July 6, 2010 - The Hannaford Charitable Foundation and Hannaford Bros. Company has contributed a $5,000 grant toward the completion of the new Windy Hill School, the early childhood laboratory school of Colby-Sawyer College. The school, which provides toddler, nursery school and primary programs, currently serves about 85 children from the greater New London area. read more…

Colby-Sawyer College President to Testify at U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Hearing on Potential Connections Between Legal Liability Caps and Gulf Oil Spill

NEW LONDON, N.H., June 4, 2010 - Colby-Sawyer College President Thomas C. Galligan Jr. will testify next week as an expert witness in maritime law before the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary about the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and the potential impact of court decisions and liability caps on the behavior of major oil corporations.

NEW LONDON, N.H., May 25, 2010 - Colby-Sawyer College President Tom Galligan, an expert in maritime law, will testify before the U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary on May 27 about the complex legal issues arising from the Gulf Coast oil spill. The symposium, coordinated by the Louisiana State Bar Association, will address the environmental catastrophe created by the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico and feature a distinguished faculty of legal scholars and political strategist James Carville as keynote speaker.
