multidisciplinary studies

The Multidisciplinary Studies major allows students who are interested in more than one field of study to acquire a broad liberal arts foundation combined with the opportunity to focus in-depth on more than one academic area. Students in the major explore how insights from various disciplines inform their understanding of complex issues as well as the methods utilized by different disciplines and how they contribute to integrative understanding. The program offers concentrations in global affairs, social justice, technology and society, as well as options to remain undeclared or develop a self-designed concentration.

Students develop skills in interdisciplinary research and problem solving, in oral and written communication, and the integration of diverse perspectives. The Multidisciplinary Studies major is excellent preparation for lifetime learning in its richest sense and is a good choice for those who want to feed their intellectual curiosity and love of learning while developing satisfying careers in a world of rapidly changing skill requirements.
