My Colby-Sawyer Experience

“I'm a firm believer in getting students out of the classroom and into experiences in nature. If students get out of their element, in a new place that stimulates their senses, that's where the best learning happens.”

That Night

based on art by Liz O'Donnell

I'd never seen purple skies before that day. Night. Afternoon? Night. I saw a lot of things I'd never seen before that day. Night. Afternoon? Night. Milton had never been so crazy. Those people weren't even Irish. Or were they? I hadn't stopped to ask. Or care. Everything was green. Green, orange, and white. I'm pretty sure it was raining shamrocks that day. Night. Afternoon? Night. I can't be positive, of course. But that's what it looked like to me. Shamrocks. Falling from the sky. Whirling and twirling and tumbling in my face. Or maybe that was the leprechaun who was following me. Again, I can't be sure. One thing I do know for sure is that I've never had a better day. Night. Afternoon? Night.
