My Colby-Sawyer Experience

I used a lot of the research and writing techniques I learned in my philosophy and media studies classes. Now that I know I can do something as large as this project, I have a new sense of confidence.

The Portrayal of Black

I am alone in black.

The ink of my soul spit onto paper,
the color of carbon and coal.

A Raven at midnight calling my name,
my demise on the sphere.

A Dismal event about to contort itself into ecstasy,
so depressing as to end all hope.

A small bleak slight of color emerging,
the pigment smothered by fire in the dark.

Infinite evil surrounds the idea,
for secrecy and dishonor emerge.

Black is the absence of all color,
light and hope in the world.
