My Colby-Sawyer Experience

“Your work... is to resist the easy answer, to seek out the truth... just as the author's work is to face the blank page with faith and optimism.”
Humanities Instructor David Elliott

international student orientation

The international student orientation program introduces you to the town and campus. During this time, we'll help you get acquainted with your new surroundings and with various staff and faculty members. You will also have an opportunity to go shopping for items you were not able to bring with you, open a bank account and finalize your class schedule.

Read our welcome letter for more information about this year's orientation process.

2011 Orientation Schedule

The Fall 2011 orientation schedule for international students will begin on Tuesday, August 30th. Check in is between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. A detailed schedule will be posted soon.

Arrival on campus

If you are traveling to Colby-Sawyer for international student orientation from outside of the country, you may arrange to move onto campus a day early. It is imperative that you make arrangements with the international student advisor in advance so that your room and keys will be ready when you arrive. Please note: if you have not submitted all your health forms and paid your tuition, you will not be able to move on campus.

The best way to get to New London is to fly into Boston Logan International Airport, located in Boston, Massachusetts, and take the Dartmouth Coach bus to the Exit 12 bus stop off Interstate 89 in New London, N.H. The last bus leaves Logan Airport at 9:15 p.m. so plan your flight accordingly. The bus ride to New London takes approximately 2 hours. The bus stop is only a few miles from the college and we will arrange for someone to meet you.

Check-in

Check-in for international orientation will be between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30th. Please be in touch with the International Student Advisor about your arrival time in advance so that we can arrange someone to pick you up at the bus stop if necessary. If you make your own arrangements to arrive on campus, you still must notify the international student advisor of the time of your arrival.

If you arrive on campus and need assistance, contact a campus safety officer at x3300 and they will help you.

Shipping items in advance
