NOD32 License Expiration June 2010

Here are instructions for students who have the NOD32 Antivirus software installed on their computers. Colby-Sawyer is no longer offering or requiring any specific security software. As of the end of June 2010, NOD32 will no longer be able to update itself and will display error messages to that effect.

However, antivirus software is required to connect to the college network and internet. There are many brands available for purchase as well as a number of free options. Please see this web page for more details.

NOD32 will continue to protect your computer, however the expiration prevents it from updating its virus database, so the protection will diminish as time passes. Please do not delay in obtaining and installing your new antivirus software before removing NOD32.
Once the new antivirus software is in place, be sure to uninstall NOD32.

Here is how to uninstall NOD32:

Windows XP: Start Menu, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs ...

Windows Vista, 7: Start Menu, Control Panel, Programs, Uninstall a Program ...

... Look for ESET or NOD32 in the list of installed programs, click Remove, or Uninstall. If prompted for a password, use "csc" (lower case without the quotes).

Please call the Helpdesk at 603 526 3800 if there are any further questions or problems.
