Colby-Sawyer has two open-access computer labs on campus, several lab/classroom spaces, a group of 14 PCs for Internet research and browsing in the library. All classrooms are technology enhanced with computers, projectors, screens and audio systems.
The lab on the first floor of Colgate Hall is available for 24/7 student use. There are 21 systems running Windows 7 Enterprise and the Microsoft Office Professional suite. The lab has a high-output HP LaserJet P4515 printer, and all the computers have access to network and Internet resources.
The Susan Colgate Cleveland Library-Learning Center is a place where the campus community can browse the library's extensive print media, microfilm, periodicals, and reference collection, as well as the Internet. There are two kiosk comptuers for web browsing only (no login needed). On the ground level are 14 PCs used for web research and browsing, and 3 computers for group use. On the top level is a 25 seat PC teaching lab where computer classes are scheduled. Between classes the lab offers students a quiet space where work on papers, projects, and research can unfold. There are 14 additional computers on level 5 available for students during regular hours.
Colgate 215 and Ivey 201 offer special "collaboratory" type spaces for a classes to attend a traditional lecture, or a multimedia-enhanced presentation. At the periphery of these rooms are conference tables each with a fully equipped computer.
The Ivey Science Center also houses Clements Hall, a 182-seat lecture hall equipped with a state-of-the-art sound and video projection system, cable TV, and a networked PC instructor station.
