My Colby-Sawyer Experience

“The lasting value of my Capstone will be the knowledge and experience I gained in supporting such growth and development in my students through the project.”
Courtney Bodine, Graphic Design major

smart classrooms and labs at colby-sawyer

Most of the classrooms at Colby-Sawyer are equipped with a networked computer and an audio and video system which allows instructors to be as creative as they like with their class presentations. Typically digital resources are used and displayed on a projection screen using a ceiling-mounted LCD projector. DVD and VHS movies with stereo audio may also be presented in the Smart Classroom.

Smart Classrooms are located in each of the academic buildings: Colgate Hall, Ivey Science Center, Mercer Hall, Reichold Science, Sawyer Arts Center and the Susan-Colgate Cleveland Library. While most rooms operate in much the same way, there are some subtle differences in the equipment used.

Additional classrooms that utilize technology but do not necessarily use ceiling-mounted projectors or stereo sound include the Library Training Room, the Art History room in Sawyer and the Windy Hill School in the basement of Burpee Hall.

There are many computer labs located on campus. Colgate Hall and the Susan-Colgate Cleveland Library are home to the two primary student labs. There are several other buildings which house smaller labs, many with specialty software or limited access depending on the student’s area of academic study. Please refer to our Computer Labs page for more information about the location of all labs and the resources offered in each.
