The College requires that all faculty and staff use their Colby-Sawyer College email addresses for electronic correspondence on campus. The College will do all official communication with faculty, staff and students via these addresses.
The reasons follow:
Standardization is necessary for effective management of the email system. Your colby-sawyer.edu account is set up, removed, and maintained via the College's servers.
Network security dictates that when someone leaves the College their email address be removed from the system. This would not be possible from a mail server not administered by the College.
Only your Colby-Sawyer College email address will appear in the college directories.
It is likely that not all communicators will have your 'alternate' address and that you might not receive email from all possible sources.
Many types of important communications are transmitted only via email so we ask that you keep current with those communications by checking your email frequently.
