175th Celebration

Swamp Candles or Yellow Loosestrife Lysimachia terrestris
Primrose Primulaceae family


Leaves are usually paired, spike or lance-shaped, 1-3" long.


The Flowers are 1/4-1/2" wide, 5 yellow petals, usually in a terminal raceme. You will notice a red circle in the center of each flower.

Form/habitat: 8-10" marshes, wet meadows, and pond margins. Flowers June-September.
