Height: Up to 15"
Leaves: 2" long and green. After a long dry period, the leaves will fall and the stem carries out photosynthesis.
Flowers/Fruit: In bloom March to July. The flowers are red and 1" long. They are clustered on the end of the cane-like stems.
Form/Habitat: Below 5,000'. Found on well drained slopes and hillsides. They range from southern California to western Texas.
