Leaves are egg-shaped, or oblong, usually not toothed (may be fine-toothed), and 1 - 4" long.
Flowers are white, in leafless clusters 1/8" in diameter.
Fruit is a hard, 5-parted seed capsule that persists through the winter. This is most often how you will recognize this shrub.

Form/Habitat: Maleberry is a shrub, 2 - 10' high that is often found near water.
You will find it at the entrance to the Philbrick-Cricenti's bog, among other places.
