The senior class did it!
The class of 2012 was on a mission to overtake the class of 1995 as the senior class with the highest percentage of participation in Colby-Sawyer history. To do that, they needed over 77% of seniors to make a gift.
But that's not all. The '12ers also issued a challenge to all our young alumni, those members of the classes of 1997 - 2011. Could any of our alumni achieve a higher level of participation to the Colby-Sawyer Fund than our intrepid seniors?
With only 24% participation heading into Commencement weekend, it didn't look good for our seniors. But then something amazing happened at Friday's Commencement rehearsal, thanks to some encouragement by Suzanne Simons Hammond '66. By the time it was over, 100% of our seniors had contributed to their class gift! A new record was set for the senior class gift!
Congratulations to our seniors for this remarkable achievement. Now it remains to be seen if any of our young alumni can approach that level of participation. The best they can hope for is to tie at 100%!
