What is the 4K Challenge?
A group of donors has laid down a challenge: If 4,000 people (including 3,000 alumni) each make a gift this fiscal year, the college will receive an additional gift of $200,000.
Why should I donate this year?
- It's an opportunity to increase the impact of your gift to Colby-Sawyer. If there was ever a year to make a gift, it's this one!
- Tuition only covers 70% of our students' education. Without the Colby-Sawyer Fund, we wouldn't be able to provide the Colby-Sawyer experience that our students deserve.
- Your participation—large or small—directly impacts the future of our students.
- Your gift to Colby-Sawyer College is tax-deductible.
- We can't do it without you!
Where does the money go?
The money will be directed to the Colby-Sawyer Fund, covering current-year expenses. Donors may choose where to allocate the gift.
How much do I need to donate?
Any amount is welcome! The focus of the challenge isn't on the amount of money we raise, but on the number of donations we receive. We're aiming for 4K!

I already made a gift this year. Will that count toward the 4K?
If you have already donated this fiscal year to the Colby-Sawyer Fund, then your gift will count towards meeting the 4K Challenge. The current fiscal years runs from July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012. Please note that donations to capital projects (e.g. the Arts Center building project) are not included in this challenge.
When Does The Challenge End?
The challenge runs through the current fiscal year, concluding on June 30, 2012.
