The Exercise and Sport Sciences Department offers majors in Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Health Promotion and Sport Management. All four majors integrate the liberal arts and sciences with professional preparation.

These majors are designed to integrate practice and theory through classroom activities, internships and student interactions with professionals in the field. Each major has its own disciplinary focus and a commitment to enhancing positive and healthy experiences within sport and physical activity. Graduates are prepared for a wide array of professional opportunities and graduate school.

Athletic Training…

The Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training prepares students in the prevention, recognition, management and rehabilitation of injuries for the physically active.

Exercise Science…

The Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science focuses on the study of exercise and physical activity as it relates to improved health, fitness and motor performance enhancement.

Health Promotion…

The Health Promotion major is an interdisciplinary program constructed with a strong foundation in liberal arts and grounded in a core set of courses that are broadly applicable to studies of health issues and health care systems.

Sport Management…

The Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management prepares students for leadership roles in the implementation, development, management and marketing of sport programs.

Coaching Certificate…

The Coaching Certificate Program prepares students who are interested in pursuing careers in coaching as well as those who plan to coach athletes on a part-time basis.
