SIFE now named Enactus

Students in free enterprise (SIFE) is renamed as Enactus standing for, “Entrepreneurs in action,” and they are working on proposing the old New London Middle School be turned into a Community Center.

Vice President and Interim President Nickolas Ciarlante says, “We currently have been visiting other local community centers in Meredith, Hanover, Lebanon, and Plymouth. We are visiting these centers to benchmark our work so we can have data and proper information to present to the Town Community Center Planning Board.”

As always the club plans on presenting its projects at the Enactus Regional Competition, April 3, 2013 in New York, where they have represented Colby-Sawyer College and won the regional competition for the past 5 Years.

Other projects that Enactus is involved in are a partnership with the local New London Habitat for Humanity, where Enactus is fundraising so that HFH can buy land and material to allow them to build a home in the fall. “ We are hoping to have a long term relationship with them in order to be able to assist with building the home,” says Ciarlante as he explains the project in more detail.

Enactus is still continuing the Ink Cartridge Collection where old ink cartridges across campus have been collected and recycled.

Enactus is taking on a lot of projects this semester as the students continue to build the Enactus name here at Colby-Sawyer College.
