“The best way to teach is to show children that you are interested in their lives, and Windy Hill is certainly a part of their lives, so that is where we started.”
Kate Callahan, Child Development major
Our staff interacts with students individually and in small groups to help them learn important life skills, such as managing a new level of autonomy, confronting and resolving interpersonal conflicts, making meaningful life decisions, accepting responsibility for one's decisions and actions, and becoming a positive member of a community.
Res Ed staff members also plan and implement educational and social programs in the residence halls, which give students a chance to live and learn together. This year, the Resident Assistants are forming partnerships with faculty members to bring programs that complement specific courses into the residence halls.
For a preview of some of the upcoming Residential Education programs, please see Colby-Sawyer's online master calendar.
