My classes stress the interconnectedness of knowledge. A recent Fulbright fellowship provided the opportunity to work with undergraduate and graduate students at Kyoto Seika University in Japan. My teaching at Colby-Sawyer College is enhanced thanks to this experience.

There is a lot to think about between now and the start of your college experience at Colby-Sawyer! This list of important information should help keep you on track.
Arrive on campus between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for check-in. Park near your residence hall and check in at the Ware Campus Center. Once you check in, our hall staff will be on hand to greet you and help you get settled.
In case you must arrive early, consult your Family Weekend flier, mailed earlier, for a list of local hotels/inns. Our summer conference schedule makes it impossible to accommodate students early.
If you need to ship items, please wait until the first week of classes to ship your boxes. Due to space constraints, the mail room is unable to store boxes before you arrive.
Convocation, the ceremonial opening of the academic year, celebrates the matriculation of the entering class. Families are invited to attend.
Students on financial aid are required to attend a meeting.
Students who have received campus work-study are required to attend a meeting.
Storage space is limited, and students will not be able to store any furniture (couches, futons, mattresses, chairs, bookcases, etc.) on campus during the summer. Please bring only furniture with you that you will be able to take home with you at the end of the year.
To register your vehicle to park on campus, please log on to PermitStore.com or call 1 (805) 963-9400 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
Your campus mailing address is 541 Main Street, New London, N.H., 03257. Mail is sorted alphabetically, so there is no need to include your hall and room number. All students are assigned mailboxes and are expected to pick up their mail on a regular basis.
A telephone is provided with each room. Voice mailboxes are provided for all students at Colby-Sawyer, so you won't need to bring an answering machine. You will receive your voice mail number and information that describes how to access your messages at check-in. Because many faculty and staff members use voice mail to transmit information, it is essential that you check for messages daily.
There is no long distance service available through the college. You will be able to access calling card and 1-800 numbers from your room phone.
Halls close for Thanksgiving at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, and re-open at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 27. Please make your travel plans now. No campus housing is available during this break. Classes resume on Monday, November 28.
Halls close for first semester at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, and re-open for second semester at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 22.
If you have any housing questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the Residential Education Ofice, at 603) 526-3755 or by e-mail at residential@colby-sawyer.edu.
