I am having trouble logging in to the Residence online housing system. What should I do?

  1. You should first confirm that you are using your full myColby-Sawyer email address (including the "@my.colby-sawyer.edu" part of it) as your username for the Residence system. You should also use the same password you use to log in to Moodle or PowerCAMPUS Self-Service.
  2. If you have confirmed both of those items and you still can't log in, next you should confirm that your password still works by logging in to Moodle or PowerCAMPUS Self-Service right now.
    1. If you cannot log in to Moodle or PowerCAMPUS Self-Service, you are either using the wrong password or your password has expired. You should contact the Helpdesk for further assistance.
    2. If you can log in to Moodle or PowerCAMPUS Self-Service, then your password is fine and you should contact Residential Education by email for further assistance.

Where do I indicate who my roommate(s) will be on my housing application in Residence?

You should complete a housing application in the Residence system to notify us of your intent to participate in Room Draw. Because this application only asks questions about you, you will not indicate roommate information until later in the process. Once the housing lottery process begins, you will be able to build your roommate group within the lottery menus in the Residence system.

How do I choose to live in a single room next year?

  • Single rooms are extremely limited on campus, and very few students will have the opportunity to live in one for the coming year.
  • To attempt to select a single room, you should opt-in to the General Housing lottery process during Room Draw in the Residence online housing system (check your email for specific instructions). All single rooms, with the exception of those in substance-free McKean Hall, International Suites, and Quiet Suites, may be selected during this lottery process. [Note: You should opt in to one of those specialty housing lottery processes if you wish to select a single in those areas.]
  • If your priority in the lottery process is high enough, and single rooms are still available, you may make a selection at your designated selection time.
  • We highly recommend that you make a backup plan in the event that no singles remain when it is your turn to make a selection.
  • If you do not select a room during Room Draw, you will be automatically placed with roommates and assigned to a room for the coming year immediately following Room Draw.
  • You may place your name on the Singles Wait List by sending an email to residential@colby-sawyer.edu. Students who add their name to the wait list by April 25 will be placed in their Room Draw priority order. Students who add their name to the wait list after that will be added in the order they contact us.

I will be a full-time student in the fall, but right now I'm registered for fewer than 12 credits. Will this be a problem for Room Draw?

No, it won't. As long as you have registered for some classes, you will be able to participate in Room Draw. You will need to be carrying at least 12 credits by the end of the add/drop date in the fall to be eligible to remain in housing.
