Community

The Colby-Sawyer College community is made up of faculty, staff, and students who fully participate in and have respect for the learning and living environment. Behaviors that are harmful or have the propensity to harm community members, whether physically, psychologically, or emotionally, or to distract or detract from the learning and living environment are antithetical to our community.

Responsibility

Colby-Sawyer College community members have a responsibility for themselves, to one another, to the community and the institution. Members are expected to actively contribute to the learning and living environment. Members are expected to use reflective decision making, act with integrity and take responsibility for their actions, positive or negative. With responsibility comes accountability; if members know of any situation that can be detrimental to the learning or living environment, they are expected to help rectify the situation by reporting it.

Connectedness

Colby-Sawyer College community members see the many connections in their lives: Members recognize that just as learning occurs inside and outside of the classroom, individual behaviors also have an impact throughout the community. Therefore, members should expect to be held accountable for their behaviors in all aspects of their college experience whether on campus or representing the college off campus.
