The Ray Indoor Climbing wall is located inside the Mercer Hall connector. Operation of the wall is a function of the Recreational Sports Office.
Built by Entre Prises, the wall stands approximately 29 feet tall and is 20 feet wide. It encompasses approximately 722 square feet of textured artificial rock climbing surface made of reinforced fiberglass panels connected to a steel framework. There are strategically placed hand holds bolted to the surace of the textured panels. These holds can be moved and relocated for an endless variety of climbing routes. Routes are set up for all skill levels and the wall can accommodate up to three climbers at time.
The wall is open to faculty, staff and students free of charge. Community members may purchase a day pass for $10.00. Members of the Hogan Sports Center and guests of members may purchase a day pass for $5.00.
The wall is available for group rentals. Two hour minimum rental for $80.
Beginning Sept. 24, 2007- Mon-Thur. 6-10pm, Fri. 6-8pm, Sun. 2-4pm and 7-10pm. Hours will change during college recesses.
