Pam Spear, MBA

Director

Pam is an experienced professional in management. She has 20+ years experience in the medical device industry, including VP of Quality Systems with global responsibilities. Pam managed volunteer blood collections for New England Medical Center (now Tufts Medical Center) in Boston which was a pioneer as the first totally automated blood donor site(s).

Pam received her BSBA in Business and Sociology from a rural college in NH and an MBA from Northeastern University.

Kelley Perron

Administrative Coordinator

Kelley is the glue that holds BHCC together. Hers is the friendly voice that usually greets you when you call the Baird Center. She is your initial contact person with the expertise to make an appointment for you with the appropriate health care provider or get a message to the proper staff member.

As Administrative Coordinator she has access to all the clinicians' schedules, keeps records up to date, checks inventory and orders supplies among her many other duties. She helps students set up outside appointments and is a resource for insurance information. Kelley is a valuable support to students and if they need an answer, Kelley usually can get it.

Leslie MacGregor, ARNP-CNP

Family Nurse Practitioner, Nursing Manager

Leslie received her BSN from the University of Southern Maine, and MSN from Yale University with a focus on maternal-newborn/nurse-midwifery. She practiced full scope obstetrics and gynecology for 8 years prior to returning to school for a Post-Masters Certificate at UNH to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. Her particular interests are human sexuality, lifestyle factors and immunity, substance abuse and smoking cessation.

Leigh Bears, ARNP-CNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

Leigh is a family nurse practitioner who has experience providing primary care across all age groups but she particularly enjoys working with adolescents and young adults. While she is skilled in all areas of health care her particular interests are in health maintenance including nutrition, fitness, and stress reduction. Leigh lives in New London with her family. She also works per diem at New London Hospital and the local school district.

Nancy Knee, ARNP-CNP

Family Nurse Practitioner

Nancy joined Baird Health & Counseling from Concord Family practice. She has a wide range of experience in health care including a semester at sea program. Her professional focus is dermatology. Nancy received her BSN from Cornell University and an MS from Simmons College.

Heather Astle, RN, B.S.N.

Nurse / Wellness Coordinator

Heather is a graduate of UNH. She has over 30 years of nursing experience in Acute Care as well as Primary Care settings. Her most recent years prior to joining the BHCC staff were spent working in a busy Pediatric Primary Care practice, caring for the needs of children, adolescents and young adults, where she continues to maintain a per diem position. This allows her to remain current with the rapidly changing Primary Care medical field. Heather lives in Warner with her family.

Kara Kidder, M.Ed., LCMHC

Clinical Counselor

Kara is a New Hampshire licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Nationally Certified Counselor and School Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. She earned her Undergraduate Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Hartwick College, Oneonta NY, and her Master's Degree from Colorado State University. Kara is experienced working with students and is focused on providing treatment that is strengths based, collaborative, and tailored to meet the needs of clients and their support systems. Kara's stress therapy through Yoga group is popular with students. She resides with her family in New London.

Tom Wilkins, MA, LCMHC

Clinical Counselor

Tom is a graduate of Antioch New England College. He approaches Counseling from a holistic perspective looking at students through the lenses of the Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual, Social and Occupational levels. He believes that to change much of what we see happening around us, we have to start by looking inside ourselves and seeing what needs to be changed.

Tom has experience in all facets of College Counseling, presenting for classes and facilitating various groups on campus. He has strong interests working with: self-discovery (bringing meaning to one's life), anxiety issues, spiritual concerns, working with dreams, anger management, assertiveness training, relationship issues, conflict resolution, grief, issues experienced by students of diversity as they become a part of the CSC community, men's issues, depression, substance abuse, and self-injury.

Annie Novak

Clinical Counselor Intern

Annie is a candidate for MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University in the spring of 2014. Annie's concentration is in substance abuse. She joins the Baird staff for the 2013-2014 academic year. We welcome Annie to CSC!

Mari Lallier

Clinical Counselor Intern

Mari joins us from Plymouth State University where she will complete her studies in the spring of 2014 with an M.Ed. in Mental Health Counseling. Mari has completed a 120 hour Eating Disorder Institute clinical rotation at Walden Treatment Center, and some may remember Mari from 2012 when she did a pre-practicum at Colby-Sawyer in career counseling.

New London Hospital is 1 mile from Colby-Sawyer. Baird Health and Counseling Center consults with the medical and psychiatric services of New London Hospital when needed.
