profiles for students with learning disabilities
One function of the Academic Development Center (ADC) is to provide services for students with special learning needs. The ADC has a professional learning specialist who provides professional assistance to students with learning disabilities.
The learning specialist prepares a written Profile for each student who has a documented learning disability. This Profile identifies the strengths, weaknesses, responsibilities, and special needs of each student.
Students give a copy of the Profile to each instructor so that they can more easily communicate with you about their needs and so that you can better understand how to help them learn and perform to their academic potential. The information on these Profiles should be kept confidential.

These students do have a right to certain accommodations, and we would be pleased to provide an explanation or rationale for these upon request. At the same time, we do not intend to ask of you any accommodations that would fundamentally alter the academic program.
If you feel that an accommodation is inappropriate or unreasonable, please let us know. We would like to have a better understanding of the technical standards of each department and would appreciate the opportunity to work with you to identify appropriate accommodations that meet the student's needs without compromising the department's academic standards.
