SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - May 31, 2009 Nineteen Colby-Sawyer athletes were named to the Academic All-Conference Team, as announced by The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Commissioner Gregg Kaye. A total of 362 student-athletes were honored and all 14 institutions in The Commonwealth Coast Conference were represented on the Academic All-Conference Team.
The 2008-09 Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team finished their season with a 16-10 overall record, marking the fourteenth straight year the program has earned at least 15 wins. Despite falling short of repeating as TCCC Champions, the women enjoyed another season as being one of the most respected programs in the region. Spectators enjoyed an entertaining and well-played season, as they witnessed several individual accomplishments and even the breaking of an all-time record.

NEW LONDON, N.H. February 24, 2009 The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team was upset by Salve Regina Tuesday evening, 68-56, in the TCCC Quarterfinals. Despite double-doubles from both Emma Pasquale (Eliot, Maine) and Terri Duffy (Marshfield, Mass.), the Chargers were unable to overcome the hot shooting of Salve Regina and their senior co-captain Allegra Lovoy (Charlestown, R.I.) who finished with 28 points.

February 23, 2009 Colby-Sawyer women's basketball Head Coach George Martin earned his 300th career win, as his team defeated Western New England College, 54-47, on Saturday, February 21. Martin's accomplishment occurred almost a year-to-the date that men's basketball coach Bill Foti earned his 300th win against the Golden Bears.

NEW LONDON, R.I. February 14, 2009 The University of New England came up with two steals in the final minute to come from behind for a 72-71 victory over the Chargers, in TCCC action Saturday. The Nor'easters used a 7-1 run in the final two and a half minutes to escape with the one-point road victory. UNE moves to 17-6 overall and 10-1 in TCCC play. The Chargers fall to 14-8 overall and remain in fourth place in the TCCC with an 8-3 record.
WENHAM, Mass. - February 10, 2009 - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team cruised to a 69-38 victory over Gordon, Tuesday evening at the Bennett Center. The loss drops Gordon to 4-18 and 3-7 in Commonwealth Coast Conference play. The Chargers improve to 14-7, 8-2 in TCCC action.
SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. February 10, 2009 Colby-Sawyer women's basketball junior Terri Duffy (Marshfield, Mass.) was selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Honor Roll for the week of February 2-8. Duffy averaged a double-double on 13.5 points and 15.0 rebounds per game in a 1-1 week for Colby-Sawyer. She piled up game highs of 17 points and 23 boards in the Chargers 66-51 triumph over Salve Regina University on Saturday. Her 23 rebounds were a career best, and it was her sixth double-double of the season.
NEWPORT, R.I. February 7, 2009 The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team defeated Salve Regina, 66-51 to take over sole possession of fourth place in the TCCC standings. The Chargers improve to 13-7 overall and 7-2 in conference play, while the Seahawks dip to 14-7 overall and 6-3 in the TCCC. Colby-Sawyer junior Terri Duffy (Marshfield, Mass.) recorded her sixth double-double of the season with 17 points and a career-high 23 rebounds. The 23 rebounds ranks as the fourth highest total in a single game in Colby-Sawyer women's basketball history.

NEW LONDON, N.H. November 19, 2008 - The Colby-Sawyer Chargers defeated Springfield College 72-57, on Wednesday evening. The Chargers are now 2-0 on the season after recording their first ever victory over the Pride. Springfield evens its record to 1-1 on the early season.
NEW LONDON, N.H. November 16, 2008 - The Colby-Sawyer Chargers opened their season with an impressive 74-51 victory over Lesley, on Sunday afternoon. Before the start of the game the 2007-08 squad was honored for their TCCC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearances. Noelle Surette '08 was also recognized as the newest member of the 1,000 point club.
The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball game against Lesley, originally scheduled for Saturday, November 15 has been rescheduled to Sunday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m.
The 2008-2009 Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team returns 14 players from last year's TCCC Championship squad. However, the team did lose one player to graduation, Noelle Surette, whom nearly averaged a double-double in her senior season with 13.6 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. She finished her career with 1158 points, ranking her fourth all-time and becoming the program's ninth 1000 point scorer.
