B.A. and B.F.A. in Studio Art

The Bachelor of Arts degree in Studio Art provides the opportunity for a broad study of art and is the recommended degree option for students seeking careers as professional artists and further study at the graduate level for K-12 teaching.

The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art provides the opportunity for an intensive study of art and is recommended for students who want to teach at the college level.

This major provides a sound foundation in several fine-art studio disciplines. After completing a series of introductory courses, students select an area of concentration in ceramics, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpture in order to complete their studio sequence.

Please see the college catalog for specific requirements.

Minor in Studio Art

The minors in Art History and Studio Art can be combined with any baccalaureate degree and are designed to add a rich dimension to any major. Understanding art via historical perspectives, adding the knowledge of contemporary art, and employing interdisciplinary approaches to making art are important mechanisms that move our students toward becoming intellectually vibrant individuals.
